How long can you live with myeloma depends on the type and stage of myeloma, and cannot be generalized. Myeloma, also known as plasmacytoma, is a malignant tumor that originates from plasma cells. It is usually common in men over 40 years of age, and the most common sites are the spine, ribs, skull and sternum. Myeloma can be divided into symptomatic myeloma and asymptomatic myeloma. In the case of asymptomatic myeloma, the survival period is usually 10 years or even longer; in the case of symptomatic myeloma, the total survival period is 5-7 years, and some patients may live for more than 10 years after timely and regular treatment with sufficient attention. Therefore, once patients are found to have myeloma, they should be treated actively, avoid exposure to radiation and chemical toxins, avoid smoking, alcohol and spicy stimulating foods, and have a balanced and nutritious diet.
