Clinical manifestations of cerebral aneurysm include symptoms of unruptured small and medium-sized aneurysm, typical symptoms of aneurysm rupture and bleeding, symptoms related to cerebral vasospasm, focal symptoms, etc.
1. Symptoms of unruptured small and medium-sized aneurysms: generally patients have no symptoms, and most of them are found by chance during examination, but they may rupture and bleed under the triggers of exertion and emotional excitement, causing subarachnoid hemorrhage.
2. Typical symptoms of aneurysm rupture and hemorrhage: when aneurysm rupture and hemorrhage causes subarachnoid hemorrhage, headache, nausea and vomiting, impaired consciousness, epilepsy, mental abnormality and other symptoms may appear. Patients may also have signs such as meningeal irritation sign, positive cone beam sign and fundus hemorrhage.
3. Symptoms caused by cerebral vasospasm: after rupture and bleeding of cerebral aneurysm, destruction of red blood cells produces various vasoactive substances, which can make cerebral vasospasm. Extensive cerebral vasospasm can lead to cerebral infarction, and the patient’s consciousness disorder will be aggravated, hemiplegia or even death.
4. Focal symptoms: internal carotid artery – posterior communicating artery aneurysm and posterior cerebral artery aneurysm can make the motor nerve paralyzed, the patient’s affected side of the eyelid ptosis, pupil dilatation, eye movement disorder; the patient can also have the anterior phase focal symptoms before hemorrhage, such as headache, orbital pain, motor nerve paralysis, etc.; the compression of the optic pathway by the giant aneurysm can lead to visual field disorders.
For patients diagnosed with cerebral aneurysm, they should immediately go to the relevant departments of regular hospitals and be treated under the guidance of professional physicians to avoid delaying the condition.
