What is the difference between hydrolyzed milk powder and regular milk powder

Hydrolyzed milk powder is the same as ordinary milk powder, the difference lies in the molecular weight of the milk proteins contained in it. Hydrolyzed milk powder is the large molecular proteins that are difficult to be absorbed by infants, which are cut and decomposed into small molecular proteins by a special process, which is more suitable for the immature digestive tract of infants. According to the degree of protein hydrolysis, hydrolyzed milk powder is divided into moderately hydrolyzed milk powder, deeply hydrolyzed milk powder and pure amino acid milk powder. Hydrolyzed milk powder is easier for infants to digest and absorb, and can effectively improve the symptoms of weak gastrointestinal function in infants. For example, the digestion and absorption of large molecules of protein in milk powder is impaired, and even allergy to milk protein causes gastrointestinal discomfort, such as spitting up, bloating, constipation, diarrhea, intestinal cramps, intestinal colic and so on. However, hydrolyzed milk powder is slightly less nutritious and expensive than ordinary milk powder, and is only used for infants within six months or infants with special allergies. As babies get older and their digestive function improves, they can be replaced with regular milk powder.
