What kind of examination for lung nodules

Pulmonary nodules usually need to be registered with respiratory medicine, medical oncology or thoracic surgery. This is because pulmonary nodules are classified as ground glass nodules, partially solid nodules and solid nodules. Most of the ground glass nodules are caused by chronic lung infections. If the nodules are small, they usually do not require special treatment and only require dynamic follow-up with high-resolution CT of the chest. Some solid nodules may be malignant and require high-resolution CT of the chest and, if necessary, enhanced CT of the chest. If the nodule is larger than 8 mm with lobarization, short burrs, and pleural traction signs, enhanced CT of the chest and, if necessary, percutaneous lung aspiration histology can also be performed, or the lesion can be surgically removed by a thoracic surgeon to clarify the nature of the nodule as early as possible. Therefore, pulmonary nodules involve three departments of respiratory medicine, medical oncology and thoracic surgery, and different departments can be selected for consultation according to the different conditions of the nodules.
