Bianzhu has the effects of diuretic and drenching (to improve the problem of dribbling in urine, small volume of urine and inability to pass), killing worms, and relieving itching. It is mainly used for heat drenching (burning and stinging pain when urinating, accompanied by frequent urination and urgency, and discomfort of traction in the abdomen), astringent pain, short and red urine (small amount of urine, dark yellow color), abdominal pain caused by worms (abdominal pain due to parasites), skin eczema, and itchy vagina with subluxation.
If Bianzhu is used to treat dampness-heat accumulation in the bladder (the accumulation of dampness and heat in the body), with short and red urine and astringent pain, it can be combined with Qu Mai, Mutong, and Talcum; if there is hemorrhagic gonorrhea (the appearance of blood in the urine accompanied by a painful sensation), it should be combined with Xiao Thistle, Baichao Root, and Pu Huang, to cool the blood and stop bleeding; and if there is sand and stone gonorrhea, it can be combined with Qiangcai Cao, Hai Jinsha, and Huchang Cane, in order to clear the gonorrhea and remove the stone.
