Pediatric Winter and Summer Treatment

The three volt days are the hottest time of the year, when the body’s meridians are loosened and blood flow is smooth, so that drugs can easily enter the internal organs through the skin and meridians. Acupuncture point dressing is a preventive treatment for some winter diseases and cold-prone diseases, using the three volt days or the summer solstice to autumn equinox when the disease is in remission, in order to achieve the purpose of supporting the root and reducing morbidity. This is a unique preventive health care method based on the theory of “spring and summer nourish the yang” and “slow is the cure” in Chinese medicine. Indications: “If it’s cold, heat it up” and “If it’s deficient, tonic it up”. Applicable diseases for pediatric acupressure include asthma in remission, recurrent respiratory infections, chronic cough, chronic rhinitis, anorexia, malnutrition, recurrent diarrhea, etc. It is best to ask an experienced Chinese medicine practitioner to identify the physical constitution before making an appointment to apply the compress, which can be applied to those who are suffering from Yang deficiency, Qi deficiency, phlegm-dampness or deficiency of lung and spleen. Infants and children under 2 years old can consider other methods of “summer treatment for winter diseases”, such as oral herbal medicine, external rubbing of paediatric acupressure point ointment or wearing incense bags. The advantages of winter and summer acupressure treatment for children have three major advantages: first, good efficacy, three days of compressing the most stimulating acupuncture points, so that the active ingredients of the drug easy to enter the bloodstream to play a role; second is a small side effect, the drug is not metabolized by the gastrointestinal tract, to protect the internal organs; third is easy to use, eliminating the most offensive to children the trouble of injections and medication, children in the voltaic days after receiving compressing treatment, winter upper respiratory tract infection or The number of asthma attacks is significantly reduced, the degree of attacks is reduced, and the physique is improved to different degrees. The course of treatment and time Every 10 days, at least 3 times in a row, generally need to be continuous for 3 years, that is, 3 years a course of treatment. This year, the first volt is July 18, the second volt is July 28, and the third volt is August 17. You can also apply it at other times during the three volt days, with 7 to 10 days between each application. The three volt days are the yang of the year, and the noon hour is the yang of the day, when the pores of the acupuncture points are fully opened and the ointment is most easily absorbed. Therefore, the compressing time is arranged at 10:00~14:00. The commonly used meridian points for pediatric acupressure are Lung Yu, Heart Yu, Diaphragm Yu, Spleen Yu, Kidney Yu, Dazhi, Tanzhong, etc. According to the disease, different meridian points are selected and matched, and the plaster with a diameter of about 1 cm is applied to the points with adhesive tape. After the paste is applied, it should be meditated for 15 minutes. The duration of plastering is 2~4 hours each time. Warm tips Pediatric acupuncture point paste is generally appropriate 1 to 2 hours after meals, should not be too hungry and too full. After the paste, there will be local numbness, warmth, itching, pins and needles, these are the normal reaction of drug absorption; if you feel special pain, itching, you can remove the paste in advance, but do not scratch. Small blisters on the skin after plastering are also normal reactions after plastering, do not scratch, wear cotton clothes and keep the skin dry; if the blisters are large and exceed the area of the plaster, ask the physician to deal with them. If the skin does not react after the ointment is applied, it does not affect the efficacy, and the time of application can be extended appropriately. In addition, avoid eating cold and stimulating, fatty, sweet, thick and greasy or fire food, such as cold drinks, seafood, beef, mutton, dog meat, cinnamon, lychee and fried food during the plastering period. Do not blow directly on the fan or air conditioner, and try to reduce exercise to avoid sweating.
