What are the common tests for sexually transmitted infections (STIs)?

Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs) screening program usually includes 6 major aspects of gonorrhea, syphilis, condyloma acuminatum, genital herpes, Chlamydia trachomatis infection of the genital tract, and AIDS.
Sexually transmitted diseases refers to a category of diseases that spread through sexual contact, mainly including gonorrhea, syphilis, condyloma acuminatum, genital herpes, Chlamydia trachomatis infection of the genital tract, AIDS, etc., and can be examined accordingly according to different types of pathology, as follows.
1. Gonorrhea: such as gonococcal culture, direct smear examination, etc. Gonococcal culture can see typical colonies, and direct smear examination can see gram-stain-negative diplococci.
2. Syphilis: such as syphilis spirochete serologic test, if the test result is positive, suggesting the presence of syphilis spirochete in the body.
3. Condyloma acuminatum: can be judged by the naked eye or dermoscopy to observe the specific form of warts.
4. Genital herpes: usually caused by herpes simplex virus infection, can be judged by antibody test, cytology, serology, cell culture method, electron microscopy and other methods.
5、Genital tract Chlamydia trachomatis infection: can be judged by cell culture method.
6、AIDS: caused by HIV infection, can be judged by HIV antibody test.
