Can I get a GI test right after my period?

Whether or not gastrointestinal examination can be done just after menstruation depends on the examination items, if it is imaging examination, blood test can be done, if it is colonoscopy, gastroscopy is generally not recommended to do.
Women who have just left their periods can undergo some routine checkups, such as imaging tests, blood tests, etc., which will not affect their menstruation or affect the results of the checkups.
However, it is not suitable for colonoscopy, gastroscopy and other traumatic examinations. Since the blood is in a state of high coagulation during women’s menstruation, if gastrointestinal examinations are performed just after menstruation has ended, they may cause trauma during the operation, which may easily lead to abnormal bleeding or even hemorrhage.
It is generally recommended to do traumatic examinations only 3~7 days after the end of a woman’s menstruation. Consultation with a medical professional is recommended for specific cases.
