Choose abortion/medical abortion carefully

In our clinic, we receive inquiries every day: is it better to have an abortion or a medical abortion? Indeed, in real life, women may have unwanted pregnancies for various reasons. At this point, the choice of how to terminate the pregnancy becomes the primary problem for women. At present, there are two methods of artificial termination of early pregnancy: manual negative pressure aspiration and medication abortion. Both abortion methods can lead to complications, which can be roughly divided into: I. Abortion 1, immediate complications during the operation: such as uterine perforation, intestinal and other organ damage, intraoperative hemorrhage, leakage of suction, etc.. Especially for young women who have never given birth, the vagus nerve excitement due to mechanical stimulation of the cervix can easily cause abortion syndrome because of tight cervical opening and immediate early complications such as drop in blood pressure, slow heart rate, weak breathing, and even apnea. 2. Recent post-operative complications (complications occurring within one month after the operation): such as incomplete abortion, post-operative bleeding caused by residual pregnancy tissue, infection, menstrual disorders, etc. 3.Distant postoperative complications (refers to complications that may occur several months or years after the operation and may be related to abortion): such as uterine cavity adhesions or cervical adhesions, endometriosis, secondary infertility, habitual abortion, etc. 4. The pain of the operation and post-operative complications also bring mental and psychological trauma to women, and some of them suffer from mental depression after the operation. Second, drug abortion abbreviated as medical abortion. Medical abortion does not use medical devices and is relatively safe. However, medical abortion is not available for everyone. Such as heart, liver, kidney disease, diabetes, glaucoma, asthma, epilepsy patients, allergic to abortion drugs, etc. are not suitable for abortion. The shortcomings of medical abortion are: 1. Long bleeding time is the biggest drawback of medical abortion, some people bleed for dozens of days. Long-term bleeding can cause pelvic inflammatory disease and even affect future fertility. 2, complete abortion rate of 90-95%, if the incomplete abortion still need to be cleaned. 3, a few people in the process of slow abortion bleeding, need emergency scraping or even blood transfusion to rescue. 4.Serious allergic reaction to the drug occurs in some people. 5.Menstrual disorders may be caused by medical abortion. Therefore, medical abortion must be performed in a regular hospital. In conclusion, both abortion and medication/abortion are not in line with the physiological characteristics of human beings and will bring adverse effects to women’s health. As you can see, the positive way to avoid the pain of abortion is to take effective contraceptive measures. Once you are pregnant, you can make an informed choice of the appropriate abortion method according to your condition.
