The treatment of hypertension in Western medicine or Chinese medicine is not guaranteed to be curative. Western medicine treats hypertension mainly with oral antihypertensive drugs, while Chinese medicine treats hypertension mainly by looking, smelling, asking, and cutting, and collecting patient data, and treating it with herbal tonics through diagnosis and treatment in Chinese medicine. The treatment of hypertension by TCM alone is suitable for patients whose blood pressure has been elevated for a relatively short period of time, and whose blood pressure is below 160/100mmHg. Some of these patients’ blood pressure can be restored to normal after taking oral Chinese medicine tonics. However, there are still some patients whose symptoms can be significantly improved after taking herbal tonics, but their blood pressure still cannot be lowered to normal values. Patients with hypertension whose blood pressure has been elevated for a long time and whose blood pressure is higher than 160/100mmHg for a long time are recommended to take oral antihypertensive drugs for a long period of time, and can improve their clinical symptoms with the use of herbal tonics, and it is not recommended to take oral herbal tonics alone to regulate blood pressure.
