The first step for elderly people who wake up dizzy in the morning is to check their blood pressure. If blood pressure is elevated when the patient has a previous history of hypertension, blood pressure-lowering therapy should be given promptly. Calcium antagonists are clinically preferred and commonly used drugs include levamlodipine, amlodipine besylate, and also oral nifedipine extended-release tablets and nifedipine controlled-release tablets. When blood pressure is severely elevated, it may cause cerebral hemorrhage. Patients with cerebellar and brainstem hemorrhage may also experience dizziness, nausea, and vomiting, and patients may also have balance disorders and ataxia, and cranial CT should be examined to clarify the diagnosis. When cerebellar and brainstem hemorrhage is considered, the patient usually starts during activity and the cranial CT examination is a high-density lesion. It may also be caused by cerebellar brainstem infarction. Patients with cerebellar brainstem infarction can also develop the above symptoms, which is an acute ischemic cerebrovascular disease. Most patients have a history of hyperlipidemia and diabetes before the disease, and the cranial CT examination is a low-density lesion. If cerebrovascular disease is considered, prompt hospitalization for comprehensive treatment is required. Cervical spondylosis may also be caused by cervical spondylosis, which is mainly caused by insufficient blood supply to the vertebral basilar artery system, and should be checked by cervical spine MRI. Patients with mild cases can be treated with neck muscle massage and, if necessary, traction therapy, or in severe cases, orthopedics.
