Physiological jaundice in newborns can be helped to subside by feeding more milk; pathological jaundice in newborns can be treated with blue light irradiation; jaundice in adults should be treated in hospital.
1. Physiological jaundice in newborns: physiological jaundice only needs to feed the baby more milk and appropriate water, and it can gradually subside after the baby urinates and defecates more frequently. Oral glucose water can promote the subsidence of jaundice to a certain extent. Appropriate sun exposure, but avoid sun exposure under the hot sun and cover the baby’s eyes.
2. Pathological jaundice in newborns: Pathological jaundice requires active treatment of the primary disease, breastfeeding babies, increase the frequency of breastfeeding as appropriate. If necessary, blue light irradiation should be carried out to promote jaundice to subside.
3. Adult jaundice: adult jaundice is mostly caused by biliary obstruction, hepatitis, etc. First of all, the cause of jaundice should be clarified, and the treatment should be directed at the primary disease. Jaundice caused by biliary tract obstruction can be treated by surgery; jaundice caused by hepatitis should be treated actively and given hepatoprotective and anti-yellowing treatment.
Once jaundice occurs, one should go to the hospital in time to find out the cause under the doctor’s guidance and then treat it actively so as not to delay the condition.
