Coal tar lotion can be used to treat seborrheic dermatitis on the head as well as to remove dandruff. The method of use is to wet the hair and scalp with warm water first, then apply the medicine and leave it on for 3~5 minutes before rinsing it off.
To use, wet the hair and scalp with lukewarm water, then apply the coal tar lotion, rub gently to make the lotion foam, and rinse it off after leaving it on for 3 to 5 minutes, 2 to 3 times a week.
Adverse reactions may include mild irritation, tingling, and occasionally photosensitized dermatitis, contact dermatitis, and folliculitis.
Allergy to coal tar or other tar is prohibited infants and children are also prohibited.
