What’s wrong with half your ass?

Half of the numbness of the buttocks may be caused by physiological factors such as sedentary and incorrect sitting posture, or it may be caused by pathological factors such as lumbar spinal stenosis and lumbar degeneration, and the cause of the problem should be identified by timely consultation.
1. Physiological factors: Sitting for a long time or sitting in an improper posture may lead to insufficient blood circulation in the buttocks, resulting in numbness for a short period of time, which usually recovers after a short rest.
2. Pathologic factors:
(1) Lumbar spinal stenosis: if the lumbar spinal stenosis is caused by trauma, congenital developmental abnormality, etc., it compresses the lumbar dural sac, spinal cord or nerve root, which can induce half of the buttock numbness.
(2) Degenerative changes of lumbar vertebrae: If the lumbar vertebrae undergo degenerative changes due to ageing, compression, injury, inflammatory reaction and other factors, the nerves distributed in the buttocks will be affected, which may lead to numbness in one half of the buttocks.
Half of the buttock numbness, excluding physiological reasons, should be timely consultation, under the guidance of specialists to improve the relevant examination, and choose the appropriate treatment.
