Newborns are prone to intraocular hemorrhage: 1. Within one week of birth, the coagulation function of newborns is not yet sound, the plasma prothrombin as well as coagulation factor function is low, and there is a physiological decline in coagulation factors, coupled with the incomplete development of elastic fibers in the blood vessel wall, the fragility of the vessel wall, various bleeding situations are more common. 2. Eye: bleeding in the eyelid/orbit/subconjunctiva, retinal hemorrhage ……. Retinal hemorrhage is mostly oozing or punctate hemorrhage, and the amount of hemorrhage is often small while the hemorrhage is widespread and scattered; in severe cases, it can cause a large area of hemorrhage. 3. Increased intracranial and thoracic pressure leads to increased retinal venous pressure and obstructed blood return as well as neonatal coagulation insufficiency and vascular wall underdevelopment.
