Children with fever how to reduce fever fastest

Clinically, there are three treatment methods for children with fever: oral medication to reduce fever, physical cooling, and transanal fever suppositories. Children with fever above 38.5℃-39℃ are recommended to use antipyretic drugs to relieve the discomfort caused by fever, and once it exceeds 38.5℃ it is recommended to take oral drugs to reduce fever. Clinically common antipyretic drugs for children are acetaminophen and ibuprofen, which can be given orally to children according to their age and weight, and the child’s body temperature will come down after taking the drugs orally. For children with significant vomiting or who do not accept oral antipyretics, fever suppositories can be considered. Hormonal drugs should not be used to reduce fever, as they may mask the real condition and delay the diagnosis. In addition, physical cooling can be used. You can use warm water to wipe the child’s neck, armpits and groin to dissipate heat, or take a warm bath and let the baby drink more water to achieve the effect of physical cooling. It is also important to find the cause of your child’s fever.
