Characteristics of scleral congestion

The sclera is less susceptible to morbidity because of its few blood vessels and nerves and slow metabolism. However, once inflammation occurs, the disease is easily delayed and recurrent, with poor tissue repair ability and insignificant response to drug therapy. Scleral wounds are also more difficult to heal. Therefore, when scleral congestion occurs, it is recommended to go to the relevant hospital department as soon as possible.
