Overall, the surgery has a small bone window, less bleeding, and faster recovery time, and is less traumatic and painful among neurosurgical procedures. Postoperative headache and nausea will mainly result from cerebrospinal fluid release and lower cranial pressure, which can be relieved by several days of bed rest and adequate fluid replacement.
