Generally, the enlargement of tonsils exceeds the palatoglossal arch but does not exceed the palatopharyngeal arch is degree I; the enlarged volume exceeds the palatopharyngeal arch less than the midline of the posterior pharyngeal wall is degree II; the enlargement exceeds the midline of the posterior pharyngeal wall or the tonsils on the left and right sides are in contact with each other is degree III.
