The enlarged tonsils can be divided into three degrees: the first degree of tonsillar enlargement, the second degree of tonsillar enlargement and the third degree of tonsillar enlargement. Generally, the enlargement of tonsils exceeds the palatoglossal arch but does not exceed the palatopharyngeal arch is degree I; the enlarged volume exceeds the palatopharyngeal arch less than the midline of the posterior pharyngeal wall is degree II; the enlargement exceeds the midline of the posterior pharyngeal wall or the tonsils on the left and right sides are in contact with each other is degree III.
