What are the characteristics of low back pain caused by osteoporosis?

Osteoporosis is most common in the elderly, especially in women over 60 years of age. Patients often complain of general fatigue and general aches and pains, especially in the lower back, which can radiate from the waist to the hips and lower limbs, and from the back to the ribs and abdomen. In severe osteoporosis, the pain is severe. Osteoporotic pain is characterised by resting pain, which is worse at rest and relieved by activity, night-time pain, waking up in the middle of the night with pain, difficulty turning over, and increased pain in the morning. However, the pain worsens after excessive activity, or after massage and traction.
