What causes pain in the arm after a vaccination

This is a local adverse reaction to vaccination and is normal. It is mainly a protective response of the body to the irritation of the muscles at the vaccination site after the vaccination. On the other hand, some vaccine components can irritate nerves or cause arm pain due to muscle malabsorption. Pain in the arm can be relieved by applying local heat.
