There are many different causes of finger swelling and pain, most commonly seen in finger arthritis, such as gouty arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and rheumatoid arthritis involving the fingers. Menopausal arthritis can be considered in menopausal women if rheumatoid arthritis and gouty joints are ruled out.
In addition, hand infections, hand swellings, neurogenic cervical spondylosis, trauma to the hand and long-term repetitive use of the finger joints can also cause finger swelling and pain.
