The most common pathological factor leading to odor from the navel is mainly umbilicitis, followed by eczema or sweat rash of the navel fossa, congenital umbilical ureteral diseases such as unclosed umbilical ureter, cysts, fistulas, etc. Allergies, skin lesions, inflammation, and oozing may also lead to odor due to physical differences or improper use of belly button patches.
