What is the cause of congenital cleft tongue

There are two possibilities for congenital cleft tongue, one of which is a simple cleft tongue with no other symptoms, which may be a simple dysplasia and generally does not require treatment. There are also certain congenital diseases that may be associated with cleft tongue in addition to the main systemic symptoms, such as Down syndrome, which is often associated with cleft tongue, often combined with low intelligence, developmental delay, and special facial features.
