Lower extremity swelling includes swelling of one lower extremity or both lower extremities, and sometimes can be combined with generalized swelling, which is due to swelling of tissues caused by excessive fluid accumulation in the tissue spaces outside the lower extremity blood vessels, and can be seen in heart failure, nephritis (renal insufficiency), nephrotic syndrome, phlebitis, and other diseases.
