There is no definitive medical conclusion as to what type of malformation requires treatment. Still, intervention and treatment should be actively considered for the following types: malformations that have ruptured and bled before, have recurrent epilepsy, malformation masses combined with high-flow fistulas, malformations with poor drainage or combined with flow-related aneurysms.
