Patients with itchy, painful eyes with dry eyes or even difficulty opening and closing the eyelids may suspect dry eye. Dry eye is an eye discomfort caused by insufficient tear production, excessive evaporation or abnormal components in the tears, and can be relieved with artificial tears.
