If the pain at the root of the ear is accompanied by inability to open the mouth, it should be considered that there may be problems such as temporomandibular joint disorder, which may aggravate the pain symptoms when chewing and opening the mouth and lead to the fear of opening the mouth. If you have any of these problems, we recommend that you visit the oral and maxillofacial surgery department and have your temporomandibular joint X-ray examined if necessary.
