When does cerebral oedema appear after cranial surgery?

After craniocerebral trauma or surgery, acute cerebral oedema may appear 12 to 24 hours after the injury or surgery, or as quickly as 30 minutes to 4 to 6 hours afterwards, reaching a peak in 1 to 3 days and gradually subsiding about 7 days after the cause is removed.
