This is due to the fact that the symptoms of pediatric rhinitis caused by pollen often take at least a few pollen seasons and therefore increase gradually after the age of 4 to 5 years. However, children may also develop symptoms of allergic rhinitis earlier if they have been exposed to excessive amounts of allergenic pollen in the first 2 years of life.
