What medication to take for Hashimoto’s hyperthyroidism

Hashimoto’s hyperthyroidism, i.e., Hashimoto’s thyroiditis combined with hyperthyroidism, usually does not need special treatment when the thyroid function is normal; when the thyroid function is abnormal, it is recommended to take methimazole or levothyroxine for treatment.
1. Methimazole: When thyroiditis is combined with hyperthyroidism, patients can take a small amount of antithyroid medication, such as methimazole, although long-term treatment with this medication is generally not required. 2. Levothyroxine sodium: Hashimoto’s thyroiditis has a tendency to develop naturally into hypothyroidism, which can cause hypothyroidism and require the administration of levothyroxine sodium, as well as regular thyroid function tests to dynamically adjust the dosage of the drug. Common adverse effects of Levothyroxine Sodium include insomnia, excessive sweating, palpitations, headache, and tachycardia.
