High-risk HPV infection does not necessarily result in warts. High-risk HPV infections mainly cause vaginal and cervical intraepithelial neoplasia, mostly seen in Bowen’s disease, cervical cancer and other diseases, and usually do not grow warts, but may experience discomfort during sexual intercourse, vaginal bleeding and other symptoms. However, some high-risk HPV infections can lead to condyloma acuminatum, which will then grow warts.
