What is the prognosis for anemia with white lips?

Patients with iron deficiency anaemia are more likely to recover if the deficiency is due to malnutrition alone, whereas if the deficiency is secondary to another disease, the prognosis is related to the original cause. In contrast, most patients with megaloblastic anaemia have a better prognosis. Some patients with aplastic anaemia can go into remission or even be cured if they are treated properly and appropriately, but there are still a few patients who can die.
