HPV infection is mainly transmitted sexually, or vertically, by contact, both by contact between the skin mucosa and the virus, so there is no problem sleeping with your child when hygiene is observed.
Genital tract HPV infection can be transmitted to the newborn during vaginal delivery, but genital HPV-associated disease is fairly rare in newborns; if a woman has genital tract warts at the time of delivery, perinatal transmission of HPV types 6 and 11 that can cause recurrent respiratory papilloma multiforme in adolescents remains rare, so most healthcare providers do not recommend the option of caesarean section at delivery for women with genital tract warts.
