If there is a pathological basis causing slow blood flow, increased blood viscosity, or vascular intima injury, plus there are triggers such as surgery, bed rest, varicose veins, etc., it is likely to develop into pulmonary embolism. It usually manifests as chest tightness, shortness of breath, and some have chest pain, and the diagnosis can be confirmed by doing the corresponding examination. In some cases, pulmonary hypertension is present, and the patient may hemoptysis as a result.
Because a certain rate of patients die within minutes of the onset of the disease, pulmonary embolism is dangerous, especially if it obstructs a larger pulmonary artery. Patients with this clue should seek medical attention promptly to avoid delaying the disease.
