What is the difference between a leukemia-like reaction and leukaemia?

Leukoid reactions and leukaemia can be differentiated by the following points.
1, the etiology is different: leukemia-like reaction has clear etiology such as infection, tumour, haemorrhage, acute haemolysis, etc., while the etiology of leukaemia is unclear and may be related to biological factors, physical factors, chemical factors, genetic factors.
2, the symptoms are different: leukemia-like reactions do not have specific symptoms, generally appearing as symptoms of various primary diseases, while symptoms such as high fever, bleeding and swollen lymph nodes can appear in the early stages of leukemia.
3. Different routine blood results: routine blood tests for leukemia-like reactions show an increase in white blood cells, normal platelets and haemoglobin, and little change in naive cells and primitive cells, while routine blood tests for leukaemia show abnormal white blood cells, platelets and haemoglobin counts, and an increase in primitive and naive cells.
4, chromosomal, genetic results are different, leukaemia can usually be found chromosomal or genetic and other abnormalities, while leukaemia-like reactions do not have these abnormalities.
5. the outcome is different; leukoid reactions do not require treatment per se and usually remit after controlling the primary disease, whereas leukaemia usually requires aggressive and standardised treatment to get better.
