What is the treatment for scalp folliculitis?

Scalp folliculitis should be treated by the Department of Dermatology and Venereology. Patients with mild symptoms can be treated with topical antibiotics such as mupirocin ointment, erythromycin ointment and fusidic acid ointment. Patients with severe symptoms will require oral antibiotic treatment, usually cephalosporins, macrolides or tetracycline antibiotics. Attention is also paid to maintaining local cleanliness and hygiene and avoiding physical irritation such as scratching, rubbing and squeezing.
