Candidiasis in the third trimester of pregnancy is mostly due to an increase in the production of oestrogen and progesterone in the body, which can have a serious impact on the vaginal flora and cause dysbiosis, leading to the development of Candida vaginalis. Lactobacillus vaginalis can be placed in the vagina to improve the dysbiosis. The condition can be minimised by keeping the genital area clean during pregnancy and avoiding the indiscriminate use of antibiotics.
