Is the new crown vaccine still recommended for 75-year-olds?

People aged 75 years are at high risk of serious illness and death after infection with the new coronavirus. According to data from clinical studies, people aged 60 years and older are able to achieve some protection after vaccination, so it is recommended that 75-year-olds receive the new coronavirus vaccine. However, because a larger proportion of 75-year-olds have underlying or chronic diseases, special attention should be paid to the condition of the elderly when receiving the New Crown vaccine. For seniors with underlying diseases, such as hypertension and hyperlipidemia, if the underlying disease has been controlled and stabilized through conventional treatment, they can usually receive the New Coronavirus vaccine; however, if the underlying disease is in an acute phase, consideration should be given to delaying the vaccination based on the doctor’s recommendation. Not only that, according to the Technical Guideline for Vaccination against New Coronavirus (First Edition), vaccination is also not recommended for 75-year-olds when they have the following conditions: 1. allergy to vaccine components: active components, inactive components or substances used in the production process of New Coronavirus vaccine may cause certain allergic phenomena, and 75-year-olds who are allergic to one or several of these components are not suitable for vaccination 2. History of previous allergies: 75-year-olds who have previously experienced similar allergies to vaccination, including acute allergic reactions, angioneurotic edema, and respiratory distress, should not receive the New Crown vaccine; 3. Uncontrolled neurological diseases: 75-year-olds with uncontrolled epilepsy or other serious neurological diseases, such as transverse myelitis, Green-Barre syndrome 4. Other acute diseases: If 75-year-olds are suffering from fever or other acute diseases, as well as acute attacks of certain chronic diseases, vaccination should also be suspended until the disease is controlled or recovered.
