Condyloma acuminatum is a contagious disease caused by the human body being infected with the HPV virus. Disordered sexual relations and unclean sexual practices are a major cause of contracting condyloma acuminatum, as is accidental contact with items used by the patient, such as underwear, bath towels, bath tubs, etc. There is also the possibility of being infected.
There is also mother-to-child transmission, where the mother has warts and the newborn passes through the birth canal during delivery. The disease spreads very quickly and the infected patient is the main source of infection.
