Anal papilloma is a benign neoplastic disease that occurs in the anal canal and is rarely carcinogenic.
In the acute stage, it is often characterised by burning pain in the anal canal, anal swelling or a feeling of urgency, accompanied by purulent discharge and anal itching.
In the chronic stage, there are no obvious symptoms, and a few have a foreign body sensation, a feeling of incomplete defecation, and occasional short periods of mild pain or discomfort in those with post-poo prolapse.
