Can steroidal diabetes be cured?

The main treatment for Cushing’s syndrome combined with glucose metabolism disorders is to treat the primary disease. Generally, when high glucocorticoid levels are corrected, diabetes can be cured or remitted, and those with relapsed Cushing’s syndrome can reappear with elevated blood glucose.
In patients with exogenous glucocorticoid use, most patients can return to normal blood glucose after discontinuing or reducing the dose of glucocorticoids.
Whether steroidal diabetes can be cured depends on whether the patient is at high risk for diabetes (family history of diabetes, obesity, history of gestational diabetes and age over 40 years), the dose of hormones and the duration of use.
It is difficult to cure diabetes in people who are older, who have gained significant weight, especially abdominal obesity, who have a history of gestational diabetes and who have to use hormones for a long time without being able to stop them.
