What causes soreness in the hip bone

Soreness in the hip bone is indicative of hip joint pathology and can be produced by a variety of pathological factors involving the hip joint and accessory structures, resulting in localised soreness, mainly from trauma, strain and bone disease, often aggravated by activity. Acute pain is often associated with trauma, resulting in local fractures and discontinuity of the bony structures; chronic pain is more commonly seen in femoral head necrosis, hip osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, hip tuberculosis and rheumatoid arthritis involving the hip joint.
