The soreness of the tooth after filling should be analyzed in detail. If it is a one-time filling, it may be a case of deep caries. Within 3-5 days after the filling of deep caries, there may be soreness and pain of the tooth, so you can consider temporary observation. If there is still soreness and pain for more than 7 days, we can do the hot and cold diagnosis test after removing the filling to determine the nature of the pulp. If the pain disappears immediately after the hot and cold stimulation is removed, it should still be a case of deep caries, and calcium hydroxide bedding can be used to redo the filling or perform pacification treatment or indirect pulp capping. If there are symptoms of pulpitis, such as ipsilateral auriculotemporal radiating pain, persistent pain after hot and cold stimulation, and the pain persists for a period of time after removing the stimulation, consider root canal treatment. In case of soreness in a tooth that has undergone root canal treatment, it may be residual pulpitis or chronic apical infection, and oral amoxicillin or first- or second-generation cephalosporins and metronidazole tablets can be administered. If the pain is obvious, you can take oral hypericum hydrobromide tablets or ibuprofen capsules and observe for 3-5 days, if the symptoms still exist, you can consider redoing root canal treatment.
