Boils usually heal in a few days

Mild boils can usually heal in 10-14 days without treatment. If the inflammation is too severe and extensive and deep, incision and drainage may be required. Boils, clinically known as boils or boils, are a type of deep acute purulent inflammation of the hair follicle and its surrounding area, mainly caused by bacterial infections, commonly including Staphylococcus aureus and Staphylococcus epidermidis, etc. They are usually solitary and present as redness, swelling, heat and pain in and around the hair follicle. Mild boils, when left untreated, gradually form pustules at a later stage, which in turn break down on their own and gradually heal, a process that usually takes about 10-14 days. If the boil is initially treated with topical antibiotic-based ointment and, if necessary, systemic use of sensitive antibiotics, it can facilitate the receding of the boil and will generally heal more quickly. If the inflammation is too severe and extensive and deep, incision and drainage may be required. Early antibiotic treatment of localized boils, especially those in the dangerous triangle of the face, is necessary to prevent the inflammation from progressing and affecting the patient’s quality of life.
