Dear mother-to-be, if you are preparing for pregnancy and already know you are pregnant, please have your first obstetric checkup at 6 to 13+6 weeks. Please register for “Obstetrics and Gynecology”, and buy a “Perinatal Record” and go to the Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic on the third floor to build a file. From 11 to 13+6 weeks, you will need to have an NT ultrasound, and after the ultrasound, you will have blood drawn for early Down’s syndrome screening. From 14 to 19+6 weeks, you need to have a mid-term Down’s screening. In addition, you need to apply for maternity insurance at this time, and have blood tests during pregnancy, including blood and urine routine, blood type, liver and kidney function, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, syphilis, HIV, thyroid function, and thalassemia screening. The father-to-be will need to have blood grouping, routine blood tests and thalassemia screening. Make an appointment for a 3-D ultrasound from 20 to 24 weeks (don’t worry about why it’s not 4-D! It’s the same thing!) This is the most important screening test during pregnancy, so please do not miss the best time for it. OGTT diabetes screening from 24 to 28 weeks. From 30 to 32 weeks, you will have a 2D ultrasound, which will mainly look at the fetal position, amniotic fluid volume, placenta position and umbilical blood flow. (This ultrasound does not estimate the weight.) At the same time, routine blood and urine tests and electrocardiogram will be performed during this period. From 34 to 36 weeks, you will have fetal monitoring once a week until delivery. You will need to have a 2D ultrasound to see again the fetal position, umbilical blood flow, placenta, and the baby’s estimated weight. You will also have your last blood test of the pregnancy, including blood and urine tests, liver function and coagulation tests.
