With the current level of clinical care, it is not possible to directly assess how long a particular patient with Rett syndrome can survive, but according to clinical statistics, despite severe and multiple progressive neurological impairments in children, most survive into adulthood, up to about 40 years of age, with a survival rate of 70% at age 35.
