What is hip dysplasia?

Acetabular dysplasia starts in children and is characterized by reduced coverage of the femoral head by the acetabulum, resulting in abnormal development of the femoral head, femoral neck and acetabulum, progressive pain and restricted movement, shortening of the lower limbs, limping, and changes in the anatomical structure of the hip joint. The incidence of hip dislocation is about 1/1000 in newborns, and it is more common in females, with a male to female ratio of 1:5. The incidence is relatively low in Chinese. Artificial hip replacement surgery is the best treatment for this disease.
