Hip dislocation series 2–Surgical treatment of children with large age hip dislocations

Many scholars suggest waiting for late joint replacement. Our experience is that in suitable cases, we can still try to avoid late joint replacement or delay it as much as possible by choosing an appropriate surgical osteotomy. Case 1: 14-year-old child with right hip subluxation and osteoarthritis, walking pain The child’s home is isolated and he was contacted only 2 years after surgery. The pins and plates were removed and the X-ray showed that the femoral head was well accommodated and the hip joint was centrally repositioned. Case 2: 11-year-old child with bilateral high hip dislocation. 1 year after surgery, the child’s family sent MMS pictures showing that the left hip was centrally repositioned and the femoral head was well covered, but due to the family’s financial reasons, the child never came to remove the steel plate and complete the right hip surgery. Case 3: 10-year-old child with bilateral high hip dislocation 1 year after surgery, showing good acetabular remodeling and central repositioning of the left hip.
