Information for first-time infertility patients

The first visit to the infertility clinic is affected by the woman’s menstrual cycle, and many patients often make a trip to the clinic for nothing because the timing is not suitable or they are not well prepared. 1, the first time patients should bring all the examination data, especially the imaging film, endocrine test results, hysteroscopy and open surgery records, male semen sheets, blood type of both spouses, chromosome test, etc. 2. For the first visit, blood may be drawn for examination, and it is best to fast (fasting from food and water for 6-8 hours). The female partner should visit the clinic on the 2nd-3rd day of menstruation or 2-5 days after menstruation; the male partner should abstain from sex for 3-7 days if he needs to check semen. 3.Patients who need to perform assisted conception techniques (mainly artificial insemination and IVF) should prepare the original three certificates (ID card, marriage certificate and birth certificate) in advance, and if they are patients in the province where the birth certificate of the first child is cancelled, they can start without the birth certificate. 4. For patients who need to undergo tubal imaging, the female partner needs to abstain from sexual intercourse after her menstruation.
